Description

SmartMember Omicron has the same functionality as SmartMember Millennium except it is INTERNET ENABLED. This means SmartMember can be used from a web browser either within the office or working from home. In fact it could be used even while abroad on a trip.

One of the main advantages of such a system is that no installation is required. The data is hosted on a server accessible day or night and solves a lot of the problems and restrictions of storing data on a PC within the office.

You can go to www.omicrondemo.co.uk if you would like to be part of the Beta test trials. Feel free to put forward suggestions for functions you'd like to see. If it's included in the new version, it will be like having a customised version of the database to be developed for you, specifically geared to your individual church requirements.

Existing customers can upgrade to the new version without loss of data.

  • room booking system

  • easy transfer of data from SmartMember Millennium

    Frequently Asked Questions

    1. What do you mean by BETA version?
BETA version means the product is still under development and is not fully complete. It is expected the product will be ready for sale later on this year. It will also give users an opportunity to suggest some extra functions for their church.

    2. How easy is it to use?
The BETA version has the same "look and feel" as SmartMember Millennium and is designed to be easy to learn and user friendly.

    3. What will be the pricing structure?
This hasn't been decided yet. However I expect it'll be a one off payment according to the number of members, followed by a monthly hosting fee according to the number of licences required.

    4. During the BETA demo will our data be mixed up with other people's?
If you use "guest" logon then all the data is shared. However if you create a "new user" then no one else will be able to see your data.

    5. Is the data secure?
The Official Release will be secure, as it will use SSL encryption. For the BETA demo, the data is accessed by username and password, but there is a possibility that this information can be accessed by a malicious hacker. Even though the risk of this is small it is not recommended to enter sensitive data.

Please note also that the data is currently stored on a server in the USA but the Official Release will store data in the UK.

    6. Why can't I delete data that I've entered?
This facility has not been added in yet, but of course it will be in the Official Release.

    7. Why doesn't the BETA version have all the functions of SmartMember Millennium?
The BETA version is a prototype. Further functions will be added according to customer feedback. This will allow greater focus on the functions that organisations find the most useful.

    8. Do you have to be a church to benefit from SmartMember Omicron?
No. SM Omicron is geared to work with Clubs and Societies too. Look out for the Room Booking System which will be coming soon.

    9. What is the maximum no. of records in the Beta demo version?
50 records, though of course the Official Release will be unlimited, depending on the package chosen.

    10. Can you see the passwords of each user?
No, the passwords are encrypted internally by Microsoft, so I cannot see them. I can only see the users that are created.
